The Great Salt Lake has reached a record low. Millions of migratory birds rely on the lake for food and shelter. As the Great Salt Lake continues drying up it will result in the exposure of decades worth of toxic industrial and pesticidal waste – which is on its way to becoming one of the largest dust emission sources in North America. This affects our entire ecosystem, not just those living in Utah. As a lover of the outdoors and an environmentalist, our common goals are to preserve the planet and our beautiful historic lands, so that future generations can have the same privileges. To have clean air, and enjoy the many activities, mental health benefits, and peace, such places provide. Ecosystem collapse at our Great Salt Lake is preventable if urgent action is taken.
