In honor of the First Nation People of Turtle Island and the Ute Tribe that first inhabited the Sundance Valley in Utah.

The Sun Dance was once described by former Tribal Chairman Jesse Taken Alive as a “Festival of Prayer.” It is the one of the most important ceremonies of the Lakota People.

In the late 1800s the “United States” and “Canada” outlawed the ceremonies of 1st Nation’s People - an attempt to destroy their ceremonies and culture; an attempt to mold First Nation’s People into the white man’s idea of what an Indian should be.

With each Rising of the Morning Sun we honor the creator and give thanks to Mother Earth.

Restore all cultural identity and spirit. Power to the People of the First Nations.
